KITCHENER — The Waterloo Catholic District College Board’s director of education and learning suggests she “takes umbrage” with the recommendation that systemic racism performed a job when police have been named to a Kitchener college to command a 4-calendar year-aged Black boy previous fall.
“I consider that in the work of our board, of our lecturers and of our administrators, we have often held ourselves to the highest common,” Loretta Notten informed reporters subsequent a board conference Monday evening.
“We undoubtedly realize that we have place to improve and we’re fully commited to that advancement, but I would choose umbrage to the allegation that there is systemic racism in our board.”
On Friday, Education Minister Stephen Lecce ordered a third-occasion evaluation of the November incident that observed Waterloo Regional Law enforcement called to John Sweeney Catholic Elementary Faculty for a student in disaster who was reportedly performing violently.
