Affiliate Professor Kim-Anh Le Cao, astrophysicist Clare Kenyon, Dr. Kylie Soanes, Dr. Maria del Mar Quiroga and Priyanka Pillai have been named Australia’s formal Superstars of STEM by Science and Technologies Australia.

The five College of Melbourne teachers are aspect of a 60-potent team of brilliant women of all ages in science, technology, engineering and arithmetic who want to action into the spotlight as media stars and have been picked out for the nationwide application to give girls in STEM more powerful abilities and self-confidence to have skilled commentary roles in the media.

“My mission is to get men and women thrilled about urban mother nature,” stated conservationist biologist Kylie Soanes. “I have constantly liked sharing tales about science and nature with people. My investigate has enormous possible to engage broad audiences in science and mother nature conservation and I’m willing to step up and advocate for concerns that are critical.”

Priyanka Pillai mentioned she realized the importance of sharing her individual STEM story when she participated in a STEM outreach celebration in 2017, which resulted in great suggestions from mom and dad of women aspiring to STEM careers.

The Stem Superstars cohort for 2021-22 was declared now by the Minister for Science, Karen Andrews with the College of Melbourne foremost the announcement with the most recipients.
